Nihonmachi
San Jose Nihonmachi Outreach Committee (SJNOC) educates about WWII Japanese American incarceration and champions civil rights, equality, justice, tolerance, and peace.
San Jose Japanese American Citizens League
The San Jose chapter is the Bay Area's oldest JACL chapter, established in 1923 as the American Loyalty League and affiliated with the National JACL in 1930. They have been a dedicated advocate and supporter of San Jose’s Japantown.
SJSU CAPISE
The Center for Asian Pacific Islander Student Empowerment (CAPISE) seeks to advance and support the holistic (academic, cultural, personal) needs of Asian and Pacific Islander students at San Jose State University through student empowerment and campus advocacy.
SJSU Asian American Studies
Asian American Studies (AAS) arose from the Third World Liberation Front, aiming to address education and research inequities. It spotlights the diverse histories and contributions of Asian and Pacific Islander Americans, emphasizing community activism while empowering students to advocate for social justice through interdisciplinary learning and community service.
